Claudia Jeffers, Ceramic Sculptor
"People interest me - the whole of the human experience! My inspiration comes from daily interactions and from my collection of folk art figures. I so love their charm and how they express a candid vulnerability.
I create ceramic figures, incorporating painted wood and encaustic wax backgrounds to make scenarios. I'm hoping the viewer sees a bit of himself in my portraits of funny little people. Pirate, mermaid, fat lady, cowboy, bareback rider: we have so much commonality!
What is your story?"
Claudia Jeffers is a narrative sculptor working in clay. She lives in the California foothills. She teaches figure sculpture and hand building at Artists Studios in the Foothills (ASiF) in Grass Valley, California.
